The Leinster Fleadh Competitions, organised by Leinster Council in conjunction with a host county, promote and develop Irish traditional music, singing, dancing and the Irish language. The winner and runner up in each competition go on to represent the province at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann
How to Qualify
Competitors at Fleagh Laighean qualify by competing in their County Fleadheanna. Competitions are organised in four age categories, under 12, 12-15, 15-18 and Senior. Winners of First and Second (and occasionally third) prizes in each competition at the 12 County Fleadhs in the province of Leinster qualify for Fleadh Laighean.
Dancing Competitions
Dancing competitions will take place on Friday 10th July starting at 11am. There will be competitions for ceilí dancing, set dancing and sean nós dancing.
Other Competitions
On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July, there are competitions in solo, duet, trio, groups and bands in traditional music, also competitions in English and Irish singing, whistling, lilting and in Comhra Gaeilge.
